Weeks and weeks ago I decided I was going to have a huge celebration today- the day the divorce was final. I was going to invite my Rotary friends, my band members, my church friends, and friends in the community. I was going to rent a big tent, and have the best of catered food, with wine and beer to offer with other beverages. I wanted a whole table full of desserts to choose from. And flowers galore! I didn’t care if it how much it cost me, it was worth the celebration of a lifetime! I wanted to dance. I asked a friend of mine that was a DJ how much it was so I would know if I could afford it. He said he knew I could afford it, because he would do it for free!! In my mind I was already planning every detail. Then I broke my ankle and my plans went out the window. I can’t dance with a broken ankle, nor get the house spotless, arrange all the food, flowers and everything from a wheelchair. Instead I am having dinner with two of my closest friends, Clayton and Elisa Rice. What nicer way to celebrate than with two friends that have supported me from the beginning with their love and friendship. We will crack open a bottle of good champagne and toast the end of bad times, and the beginning of a wonderful future. The future is as bright as the promises of God.
