Were headed north today. The highpoint of the day might have been in the McDonalds just after we crossed into Alabama. We were sitting eating our MD food, yes sometimes it works, and I could here an elder gentleman engage a young couple behind me. This all happened in beautiful old school Alabama, warm as can be, dialect. The older gentleman asked how old their little boy was and the answer was two years old. He searched in his pockets and regretfully told them that he only had one dollar bill. He asked if he could give it to their son and they acquiesced. He gave the boy the dollar which Gini said he quickly grasped, being two years old. I think that I heard more talk about the old mans children. They chatted on and Gini was alarmed that the older gentleman would forget his hat at the table. I assured her that he would not. He did not forget his hat returning to the table to get it then making his exit but not before admonishing the two year old to mind his Mom and Dad, keep in mind the boy was only two years old. I actually didnt see any of this because I didnt want to intrude but I couldnt help but hear the exchange. Gini said that the older man looked to be in his 70s or 80s and was very fair. Kindness is a marvel and a joy that will fill your day with warmth when we happen apon it. Paul
