What: Pre-release Documentary Screening & Professional Panel Discussion When: October 28th, 2014, at 6:00pm Where: Room E51-325 (MIT Tang Center, 2 Amherst St, Cambridge, MA 02142) The MIT Food and Agriculture Club is proud to kick off this year by hosting a preview screening of FOOD CHAINS (foodchainsfilm) - produced by Eva Longoria, actress and hispanic activist, and Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation. Food Chains reveals the human cost in our food supply chains, and the complicity of the supermarket industry. The film carries a powerful call to action for every viewer, demanding that retailers use their power to eradicate abuse in their supply chains. Following the screening, there will be a panel with representatives of food industry, including Robert Paalberg, Harvard Professor of global food and agriculture policy, Sanjay Rawal, executive director of the film, and José Duarte, owner of Taranta Restaurant-Boston, to discuss the current challenges in the food industry and growing opportunities for entrepreneurs to make a difference.
