What is Green Banking? The word green banking has been conceptualized to implement the broader concept like sustainable development. Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising about the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (World Commission on Environment and Development). Green banking means operating banking business in such a fashion that proper and adequate attention is allocated in social, ecological and environmental factors of environment by minimizing conservation of nature and natural resources. Banks can be green through changing policy in investment allocation and management, change in internal process of housekeeping, develop the process of human capital management, corporate social responsibility and last not the least by promoting consciousness among clients and general mass.
