When I was in the hospital in April and May 2013 with severe infection from cellulitis, I was talked down to and chastised by an internal medicine doctor who said that CRPS had nothing to do with the immune system, and that my doctor should never have put me in isolation...I had open wounds from the bottom of my right foot to my right knee, including all the way around the leg. Even without CRPS, those open wounds left me at risk of infection. He was an idiot. Anyways, there is a new research team working at the University of Liverpool on the cause of CRPS. They are agreeing with what those of us with CRPS could have told you for years, this disease affects our immune systems, and is linked to immune dysfunction.
