Whether you call it the Jersey Devil or the Leeds Devil, it is alleged to inhabit the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. The earliest reports date back to 1778 from a man named Stephen Decatur. Legend says the origin of the Jersey Devil comes from a woman named Mother Leeds. Already with twelve children and finding herself pregnant with the 13th, in a fit of dispair she cursed it saying, Let it be a devil. Witnesses report it to be a biped with hooves that feeds on Livestock. *Skippy*
