Why God is not speaking to me. I had this conversation with a friend recently. I wanted to share my thoughts because I know so many others say or feel that way at times. First off I must say that God has spoken to everyone. I know some of you are saying um no he hasn’t but the truth is he has. If you have ever picked up the bible and read the word of God then yes he has spoken to you. So many of us tend to think that he isn’t speaking to us because we can’t hear him physically however that’s not how God speaks to all of us on a daily basis. If you want him to speak to you then open up a Bible and start reading. For some of us that are in the Word of God there are times especially when there is a crisis of some sort we pull away from God and his word and say that he wasn’t there or felt like they have been abandoned by him. God is not only there in the word but he is there in the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 says But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. Have you ever started to make a decision or made a final decision and yet after doing so you constantly start second guessing your decision or you feel like something is nagging at your conscience and eats at you or you feel very confident and feel sort of led or encouraged about continuing the path your on when you’re making the right decision? Well that’s the Holy Spirit talking to you. We all have moments where we feel that God should intervene or give us more noticeable signs that he is there but He is always there and it doesn’t necessarily happen in the way we want it to be right there in black and white. In Isaiah 58:11 it says The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. We all have our ups and downs however it is during the down times we seem to feel abandoned and that’s when we start losing our faith however it is during all these times that we are being tested by our faith especially during those darkest times of our lives. Hebrews 11:6 says and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. So next time you question as to why God is not speaking to you perhaps you need to slow down and really start to listen and pick up a bible and start reading the word because we are always being spoken to by the word or by the Holy Spirit through good times and bad. We all just need to quit losing our faith and have faith and trust in God and the Holy Spirit and start really listening. With God all things are possible.
