Why SHARING is ESSENTIAL: so if I used about one cup of flour = 560 calories... 5 packets of instant oatmeal with raisins, dates and walnuts= 700 calories a WHOLE stick of butter = 800 calories (I bet you never think like this ;) ) 2 ripe whole bananas( that matters in terms of sugars so this = high end for calories) = 240 calories, 3/4 of an apple (this is innocent) =87 calories, about 3 tablespoons of almonds about 130 calories( I am a math teacher so that is how I know how to calculate this stuff) the problem is that I do not measure things when I cook I just know about how much I used.... I took cooking classes in school back in the good old days they made sure we knew how to cook and sew... and my own family taught me how to cook with OR without a recipe. My nana NEVER followed recipes and measured things out mathematically she would measure but using what she knew worked. She would show much how much in a cup for example... or how much in that specific pan she always used. Personally, I just kind of cook from a place that is a combination of knowledge, experience, and hypothesis... Sometimes I just do it and call it something afterwards... oh.. this came out like a biscuit.. so I made biscuits... oh these came out like scones... therefore... these are scones and then I store it in my archive of knowledge so now I know when I did that it was scones and every time it works!!! Well back to the math... so now we are up about 2517 calories... It makes about 2 and a half dozen. So thats about 30 portions therefore each one is about 84 calories... A serving size is about 3 = 252 calories. Which is great!!! So when you only keep a serving for yourself and you give away the rest you save yourself from losing your results....BUT if you make this kind of stuff and keep it for yourself... that is 2517 calories!!!! Part of MINDFULNESS is that when you cook into the unknown of a NEW creation make sure you KNOW what you are putting into it.... Alot of damage is done just because we dont know...and SHARE!!!! Its easy to put away a dozen scones in a day when you keep on grabbing one throughout the day. That would be FOUR servings =1008 calories...in addition to whatever else you might of had!!!
