Woah... I received intense hostility from my sister and Aunt when I asked for a $5 per day increase on my $20 a weeknight caregiving for my 84 year Mom. I have been there every night from 6pm to 10pm and I spend the night on Friday and Saturday for $50. My rent at my studio apartment was just increased $50 a month to $850 per month, and I had sacrificed my home internet connection last month because it was a struggle to get by on $250 a week. I have added soooooo many extra chores (dishes, watering plants, medicine giving) into my evenings there, and my Aunt and sister dont want to give me a penny more and it makes me incredibly sad that for all my reliability and extra effort that this is the gratitude I have received for helping get things back on track from when my brother was asked to leave for taking financial advantage with cash from my mom and verbally abusing my Aunt to the point that she had moved out at one point. Things have been very harmonious there until I asked for a small raise... Its hard to believe that they are that ungrateful after all the love and effort I put in to make things better there. Very sad... :(
