Yeshua LITERALLY bore our sins in His flesh upon the tree (this was a spiritual act not a physical act). So that our sins could truly be dealt with. Not just an overlooking of sin, but a dealing with it. When we are baptized into Messiah, we are LITERALLY united with Him in His death (through the Eternal Spirit), so that our body of sin can be destroyed. So that just as He rose again, free of sin, we too can LITERALLY rise to a newness of life in Him, by being joined with Him through the Holy Spirit, so we can live free of sin. We still have to make the choice to walk in the Spirit, and not in the flesh, and that is where our biggest battle is, but we are not alone in this, God has provided everything for us, through His Spirit, so that we can live godly, holy lives. He Who knew no sin, LITERALLY became sin (by bearing our sin in His flesh), and it pleased the Father to crush Him (because He had our sin in Him, remember God takes no pleasure in the death of anyone, but in the Atonement it pleased Him to crush Yeshua because sin was being DESTROYED). So now we can LITERALLY become the Righteousness of God, by partaking of His Divine Nature! The Torah is not some external Law that we keep in our own strength, by our righteousness, but rather, it is written upon the tablets of our hearts, and we keep it by the Power of the Holy Spirit, it is GODS RIGHTEOUSNESS in us, that brings forth the Good Fruit, apart from Yeshua we can do NOTHING! This is why we must ground ourselves in Grace, and Faith, and constantly remind ourselves (through Communion, Prayer, Bible Study, Sermons, etc., etc.) that we are FORGIVEN. Peter says (in 2 Peter 1) that those who are not walking in virtue, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love, are those who have FORGOTTEN that they were purged from their old sins. We MUST stay grounded in the Gospel. If we for one minute think, that now that we know the Gospel, we must to go on to deeper and meatier things, then we know NOTHING! The Entire Word of God, from beginning to end, is about Yeshua, and about what He has done to redeem us. It is Yeshua Messiah, and Him Crucified, PERIOD. When we forget that we are FORGIVEN, and that we are Saved by GRACE through FAITH, then if we sin the Enemy is able to gain a foothold, and accuse us! And this leads us to being burdened down with guilt because of sins. Then, when we try to do better, we are not fighting from a position of GRACE but one of WORKS and we only come more and more under condemnation us we fail more and more. We have to come back to the CROSS, we have to stand in the GRACE OF GOD and in the POWER of HIS MIGHT, knowing that we are FORGIVEN, and then, from there, we fight the Good Fight of FAITH! IF WE SIN, we do not fall under condemnation, but instead we CONFESS it, and YESHUS (not us!) CLEANSES US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. This is the Power of the Gospel. When I remind myself of this, sin falls off me like water off a ducks back, I move in Power and easily overcome. But when I allow myself to move away from this Truth, then I quickly fall into sin, and into a system of Works Righteousness, which only brings condemnation. This is where many of the first century Jews stumbled, they sought the Righteousness of Torah, as if it came from their WORKS, they failed to see that it comes only through FAITH, this is also where so many Messianic Believers today are stumbling. We must, as the writer to the Hebrews says, Run the race that is set before us, with patience, keeping our eyes fixed on YESHUA, Who is the AUTHOR and PERFECTER of our FAITH.
