You are invited to attend. Lets Talk Forum- Everyone who is serious about the events in the community is invited to attend. Thursday Dec. 11, 2014 7:00- 8:30pm. Together with parents, young people, community leaders and representatives from the Columbia Police Department and the Richland County Sheriffs Department as we peacefully and seriously discuss these issues. The talk will cover topics such as: 1. What is the perception of law enforcement by citizens of our community? 2. What are some positive aspects and involvement of our law enforcement personnel? 3. How can we avoid some of the negative stereotyping of African American males? 4. How important is our civic involvement (voting, council meetings, etc.)? 5. What conversation should parents have with their children about their legal responsibilities, rights, etc.? The facilitators will be Min. Cory Lorick and Mr. Jermaine Jones. The event convenes at the C.L. Lorick, Sr. Empowerment Center, 1912 Cushman Drive, Columbia, SC.
