the map of joaquim silva shows as well the aruak (nuaruaque) territory at north littoral around the delta of amazon river. aruak groups were contacted by c columbus in 1492 (guanaani island). so in some part of their prior history they were capable of maritime navigation.. yanomamis are aruak groups... actual brazil capital,brasilia,was built in an old je territory. salvador (capital between 1549-1763)and rio de janeiro (between 1763-1960) were built on tupis territories...
