1 Corinthians 7:30... and those who buy, as though they did not - TopicsExpress

1 Corinthians 7:30... and those who buy, as though they did not possess; Wanted to emphasize this portion of the verse as the Lord directed me today. This is very important for any who would wish to follow the Lord and to transform unto maturity in Christ. The Lord spoke to me that when a person buys and assumes the position of ownership they prove their position of being in the flesh and in the world. A person cannot possess something of the world and not remain in and of the world. If you buy something you may not possess it but rather, if you have died with Christ in your reality, you cannot possess anything because you have also died with Christ and been resurrected into the kingdom of God. You are no ;longer of the world unless, of course, you wish to remain in it and of it by possessing as opposed to merely being a steward of all. This is very important because this POSITION or attitude proves whether you are in spirit, in the kingdom or whether you wish to remain in the flesh in the world. In addition to this, the Lord spoke to me that it is not a one sided relationship in that if you have the attitude and position of ownership it also owns and possesses you! How can this be? Because Satan is the ruler of the world and all the world is under his usurping authority. You are right if you say Jesus has overcome the world objectively, but for now, the world is still under his rule and of the old creation. The cross of Christ is a very decisive and distinctive line in the sand to differentiate the world of the old creation from the new creation in the kingdom of God. Nothing from the old will pass through the cross. Yes, you can buy but NOT possess, you can use the worlds things but not make full use of them otherwise you may not truly or fully abide in Christ because He is not of nor in the world but He has judged and condemned the world. There will be both a new heaven and a new earth. Paul helped to point this out with the proper attitude or position by saying I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ in me. I have died to the world and the world to me!
