1. Nowrooz is the day when Allah, the High, took the Oath of Allegiance from the souls of all human beings (before their creation) to His oneness, that they would not associate partners with Him and that they would accept and believe in His Prophets and Imams; 2. This is also the day when the flood during the time of Prophet Nuh (AS) subsided and the ark rested on the mountain of Joodi; 3. Nowrooz is also the day when the Messenger of Allah destroyed the idols of the polytheists of the Quraish in the city of Makkah. 4. This was also the day that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) destroyed the idols; 5. Also the day when the Messenger of Allah ordered his companions to pledge allegiance to Ali as the Commander of the Faithful (this is in reference to the Day of Ghadeer which took place on the Eid-e-Nowrooz); 6. it is also the day when the Qa’im from Aale Muhammad (the 12th Imam) will make his advent…” ........... Aamal of the day of Navroz - AAMAL OF THE DAY OF NAVROZ Addressing al-Mu’alla ibn Khunays, Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) said: On the Nayruz Day (the 21st of March; the new day in the Persian Calendar), bathe yourself, put on the cleanest of your clothes, perfume yourself with the best fragrance you have, and, before everything, you must be observing fasting. When you accomplish the supererogatory prayers and offer the Zohr and Asr (obligatory) Prayers, add a four unit prayer, each two alone, - in the first of which you may recite Surah al-Faatehah once and repeat Surah al-Qadr ten times. -In the second unit, you recite Surah al-Faatehah once and repeat Surah al-Kafirun ten times. -In the third, you recite Surah al-Faatehah once and repeat Surah al-Tawheed ten times. -In the fourth, you recite Surah al-Faatehah once and repeat Surah al-Nas ten times. After accomplishing this prayer, you may prostrate yourself and say the following: اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْاَوْصِيَاءِ الْمَرْضِيِّينَ وَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ اَنْبِيَائِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ بِاَفْضَلِ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَ بَارِكْ عَلَيْهِمْ بِاَفْضَلِ بَرَكَاتِكَ وَ صَلِّ عَلَى اَرْوَاحِهِمْ وَ اَجْسَادِهِمْ اللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي يَوْمِنَا هٰذَا الَّذِي فَضَّلْتَهُ وَ كَرَّمْتَهُ وَ شَرَّفْتَهُ وَ عَظَّمْتَ خَطَرَهُ اللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا اَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى لا اَشْكُرَ اَحَدا غَيْرَكَ وَ وَسِّعْ عَلَيَّ فِي رِزْقِي يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ اللّٰهُمَّ مَا غَابَ عَنِّي فَلا يَغِيبَنَّ عَنِّي عَوْنُكَ وَ حِفْظُكَ وَ مَا فَقَدْتُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَلا تُفْقِدْنِي عَوْنَكَ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى لا اَتَكَلَّفَ مَا لا اَحْتَاجُ اِلَيْهِ يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ. If you do and say so, your sins of fifty years will be forgiven. You may repeat the following saying as many as possible: يا ذالجلال و الاكرام For tom morn 21st March: At the time of sunrise recite the following du-a’as on the day of Nawruz اَللَّهُمَّ هَذِهِ سَنَةٌ جَدِيْدَةٌ وَ اَنْتَ مَلِكٌ قَدِيْمٍ اَسْئَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَ خَيْرَ مَا فِيْهَا وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَ شَرِّ مَا فِيْهَا وَ اسْتَكْفِيْكَ مَؤُنَتَهَا وَ شُغْلَهَا يَا ذَاالْجَلاَلِ وَ الاِكْرَامِ O Allah, the new year has begun. You are the eternal master. I ask You to make available to me its good and the benefits which are in it. I seek refuge with You from its evil and the disadvantages which are in it. I request You to let me procure the provisions I need and discharge the activities I take up in this year
