#10500 To all who think that graduation dinner was slightly disappointing The timings of Graduation dinner we proposed initially were from 6 pm to 11 pm ,which is a 5 hour window practically enough to accommodate the entry of 900 people but was denied by the authority assuming that late night events will result into unfortunate incidents especially related to female students. So we were told to somehow organize graduation dinner between 6:00 to 9:30 and any objection regarding this would result in the cancellation of the entire event. We were really sad but decided to proceed with it since we were duty bounded being the members of SUS. This. This means that 10 people should enter the gate in a minute within one and half hour and to make it possible we proposed minimal level of frisking at the entry. The latter proposal was also denied just couple of hours before and security guards were directly appointed by the college which tightened the security and made further delay The entry was scheduled at 6 pm and unfortunately nobody turned up although we were ready with everything . People turned up in mass numbers around 7 only since it has become dark and more than 200 students approached us seeking help since they dont have or forgot to bring id cards. We somehow managed to get the permission for their entry through written applications and this too contributed to the time delay. As you all know when something is been delayed externally at initial phase it will be followed by a sequence of similar events. We even cancelled the coupon system in between in order to help students. Some of us washed plates at the kitchen since we value your money and we are morally responsible for your comparability. Nevertheless we are proud to say that we tried to make sure that nobody left the venue without having food and we extended it for half an hour till 10 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience if you had any.But it wasnt deliberate from or a mistake of inexperience. It was all about making a choice subjected to constraints. No Graduation Dinners were perfect in the past but all the SUS councils of respective years tried their level best to make it a better one.So do we and certainly it was one of the best Graduation Dinners in terms of Ambiance, creativity, colorfulness, enjoyment and the richness of food considering the number of appreciations we received rather than criticisms which is a part and parcel of this business :) Regards and signing out Team SUS
