13 years ago today, I was almost home from work when a guy decided to cross the the double yellow line and accelerate head-on into me. Full head-on collision with the front drivers side resulting in tearing the entire front wheel and housing off my old model mini-van. NO AIRBAGS!! I blacked out (naturally), came to, and after momentary blindness, the veil lifted and there I sat surrounded by crushed metal and covered in broken glass. I remember telling myself, Ok, youve been in a bad accident ... can you wiggle your toes...yes...ok, just sit here and breathe! I was told by the paramedics and later by all others that I should not have survived at all - - yet God had graciously and mercifully spared my life. That day, the full meaning of God being my shield took hold as I know without a doubt that God protected me. I did have a fractured ankle, torn cartilage in my wrist, jammed wrists, and tore, sprained, strained every muscle in my body as well as bruised and battered literally from head to toe, but ALIVE! All in all, God is good!!
