24-Hour Public Weather Forecast Issued at: 5:00 AM 21 September 2014 SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 AM today, Tropical Storm “MARIO” was estimated based on radar and other available data at 155 km northwest of Itbayat, Batanes (21.4ºN, 120.5ºE). with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move north northeast at 17 kph. FORECAST: Batanes group of Islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Babuyan and Calayan group of Islands and the province of Ilocos Norte will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. The provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales and Bataan will experience monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of northern and central Luzon will have occasional rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
