#4700-A very disgusting incident that happened to me in Bali, Indonesia today ----------------------------------------------------------- Hi All, I am writing this because I really dont know what else to do . I was subjected to extreme racial harassment and humiliating behavior today . I was in Giili T for my Diving course. Today morning I was sitting in my hotel having breakfast in the morning when a bunch of guys also walked in. 1 dutch guy was who was in my dorm was also with them. The rest of the guys were english. I was sitting alone eating my food watching TV. Suddenly news scrolled about Indias Mars Mission. Suddenly one of the guys (who were 5-6 of them together), looked at me and started saying Did you all hear about Indias mars mission. The only country to have a space mission before having a sewage system. I was shocked but did not react.But they went on and on making racist jokes about India and the stereotypes.(obviously looking at me all the time and speaking in a mocking manner and laughing ) . How a poor country can afford it. How it will be a failure . How Indians are so stupid and they have over crowded Britain . And how they need to be colonized again by Britain to teach them civilization etc. It went on and on for some time. Then came worse comments, How can Indians travel alone (as I had told the dutch guy I was travelling alone ) and how do they have money to do a diving course. Looking at me and making fun all the time. Then the abuses started F%cking Indians, etc. I was losing my patience and wanted to run away there in anger but controlled myself. The TV then started showing video of Charles and Camilla doing some Hindu Puja and then they started making fun of my religion. I wanted to cry and run away but just managed to compose myself . I gave no reaction and just managed to finish my meal and get away from there . Ofcourse when I was leaving they are had a big laugh. I was shocked at that incident . India did not attack any country , kill people in any place, launch nuclear warheads at any country . Then why was i being racially victimized ? And how barbaric , uncouth and disgusting for a group of men to hound and harass a woman sitting alone , just because the country she comes from did something in the field of technology ? I am so shaken by this whole incident. I have been crying since the morning. Just got back to Kuta by boat . What kind of a cheap behavior is this to harass a fellow woman traveler , who is all alone ?
