6 months ago today, Makenzi was born at 32 weeks during emergency cesarean and hysterectomy due to placenta percreta. I lost my entire blood volume, and she was born with no heartbeat and not breathing. Even though she was a great size (5 pounds) thanks to my jumbo placenta, we spent 5 1/2 weeks in NICU. Those were the longest days and nights of my life. Today we get to celebrate our miracle princess turning 6 months old on this special day of World Prematurity Day.
