9/25/2014 - 10:00 PM - UPDATE When I got there this morning Val had already had OT and had on his Frankenstein brace. He had already had his morning coffee and he said it tasted good. Part of his PT today was to transfer from the bed to the wheelchair on a sliding board. He did a good job helping the therapists. Then he had his first meal tray.(I posted a picture of his meal and his silly grin on my page.) It was puree chicken, turnip greens, beans and pudding. All unseasoned. He asked for pepper sauce for the greens. Bless his heart - it needed more than pepper sauce. He ate about 3 bits of each. His Speech Therapist will not be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so wants me to bring things for Val to eat. Im taking chocolate pudding, yogurt, jello and chocolate milk. He can have ice cream - I may go to Dairy Queen and get him a cup. He had PT again after his lunch. He is really working hard. Got him back to bed to rest and he went right to sleep. I hope he sleeps tonight - he was doing some powerful snoring this afternoon. Im praying for his continued strength and determination. Praise God for the blessings he has given us especially all of you prayer warriors.
