A Cat With No Name I’m a common ol’ black ‘n’ - TopicsExpress

A Cat With No Name I’m a common ol’ black ‘n’ white: Dad was plain, Mum was sour. There were 6 in the litter but I’m alone now Brought up in a flat, The top of the tower. It’s window ledge city No place for a kitty. The view below: phew.. That’s a long way to go. I shy away and think of play But it’s all rough and tumble: I back off and am humble. The kids are loud and pull me about: I try to look big and blow myself out, I spit and I hiss. A kick: I dodge - a near miss. It doesn’t work and I’m kicked to one side: My only option’s to shrink and to hide - Behind the sofa’s a safe place to be. It’s no life here: I wish I could flee. They forget to feed me again and again. My tummy hurts, I can’t deal with the pain; It’s bloated too and rumbles and churns. I know I’m not right: I think I have worms. At least I can scratch the itchies away: I scratch all night and I scratch all day. Now I’m tired of scratching and so need to rest But TVs blaring, loud music, play station - No peace for this pest. I want to sleep to save me from pain. My wish comes true - I won’t see them again: I’m with the angels now. I’m the cat with no name.
