A couple of weeks ago I told the story a a random car crashing - TopicsExpress

A couple of weeks ago I told the story a a random car crashing into my fence and leaving a number plate in the rubble. Heres what happened. Insurance would only pay for half the fence - the other half was the responsibility of my neighbour. A quote came in that was very high...but it was not worth claiming. Would the culprit come forward own up and help me to pay for the repairs? HA! A very nice Policeman popped over to tell me that unfortunately no one would ever be held responsible because there was no way of knowing who was driving the car. Turns out the car was registered to a family in Auckland somewhere. They had sold it to a car dealer who had not changed the registration details. The dealer then on-sold the car to a person with a fake name and address. The supposed person who purchased the car was not in NZ (having entered on a student visa) and had departed in February. All I can think is - wow! How many times was that car sold without someone doing the right thing? ANYWAY... turns out my neighbour happened to have some concrete and his mate gave him some fence posts and he found another piece of wood up the road. I came home tonight to find it had been fixed. Thank you neighbour. You have restored my faith in people being intrinsically good and kind. This of course cancels out the vibe of first part of the story. Thank you. Have an awesome weekend everyone.
