A few items worth mentioning about those 40+ jobs bills that the House of Representatives has passed but which are currently #StuckInTheSenate: all but two of them passed with bipartisan support – some with overwhelming numbers of Republican and Democrat votes. You can check out the vote tallies for each bill at the link below. 31 of the 43 had Democrat support in at least the double-digits. Four were even passed by voice vote – meaning no one in the House rose to object to their approval. And yet the Democrat majority in the Senate can’t find the time to pass, say, a bill to expand student access to charter school education opportunities – something 158 of their Democrat colleagues in the House supported. Or, a bill that would expedite the approval process for the export of America’s natural gas resources, building on our all-of-the-above energy strategy to create more jobs and economic growth here at home while proactively engaging with our allies around the world to achieve greater energy security. This idea garnered 46 Democrat votes in the House. Of course, there are plenty more positive solutions where those came from – the large majority of them earning bipartisan support. So, what again, is the excuse from the Democrat-majority in the Senate?
