A friend of a friend wrote that the Genie, youre free photos and comments about Robin Williams sends exactly the wrong message. I could not agree more. It helps us to cope with the shock and loss that we feel at his passing, but no one is really freed by ending their life. My father shot himself when I was 16. It caused unspeakable pain and guilt issues that I was not aware of, nor able to address, until I was in my 40s. The voice in my head, fueled by that guilt, is still there. It is like a cruel translator who intercepts a benign statement after you hear it and twists it into something malicious before it gets to your brain. There are still times when the translator slips one by me. Suicide only passes a persons pain to those who care about them, who must then add this burden to their own. If you ever feel that you want to end your life. Call a friend, get help... You owe it to the people who love and care about you.
