A man tragically killed when a suspected drink driver mounted the pavement and crashed into a bus stop has been named as 32-year-old Adam Uyiekpen. Mr Uyiekpen was standing outside a shop on Moston Lane, Harpurhey, when a Toyota Avensis ploughed into the bus stop at 5.30pm on Saturday. The impact of the car crash resulted in a metal pole colliding with Mr Uyiekpen - who was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. A 38-year-old man was also taken to North Manchester General Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. Tracy Carrington, 51, of Routledge Walk, Harpurhey, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving (aggravated by driving under the influence), driving while disqualified and two counts of assaulting a police officer. Carrington was remanded in custody after being charged and will appear in court to face these charges.
