A new ransomware virus has popped onto the radar, very similar to the Cryptolocker virus that we saw going around in the last year. This virus is extremely sophisticated – it encrypts data files on your computer so they cannot be accessed unless you pay the ransom. This new virus is also using the anonymous Tor network which makes it much more difficult to trace and prevent. As always, we strongly recommend using a two step prevention process for all malware including a top of the line antivirus program like Kaspersky, which we sell, as well as a good image backup solution for a worst case scenario.
