A post by a fellow Facebooker: to me this smacks of ageism. I am less than a year from 80 and I do not need anyones help as I travel the world--without a vehicle. I am on the road again and I think I have the health and strength to do so because I have not been to a doctor of any kind for 50 years. Was it Socrates who said, Physician, cure thyself? Because who knows your body better than yourself. I feel very strongly about this for I see decrepit people my age in all my travels and I know they have been fed the poison--both literally and metaphorically--from allopathic doctors. And I feel this whole post about the aging, weak, decrepit body is just an endorsement --in other words saying it is inevitable--of allopathic medicine. It is everyones choice how they choose to treat their bodies and I think it is the fear of death that keeps people glued to their doctors. And fear of death is decidedly --and it does not exist in all cultures--a low spiritual state. It is up to every individual what their level of consciousness is. Touché old Gal!
