A ridge has brought nice weather to the Ozarks with only a handful of showers the last few days. This will remain the case for the next couple of days. Highs are likely to warm into the low 90s with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Late Wednesday a weak cool front will become stationary from near Kansas City to near Cape Girardeau. This will set the stage for nocturnal thunderstorms each night as a complex rolls along this boundary. Eventually this will force the boundary south some and increase the chance for rain later in the week for the vast majority of the viewing area. Since the rain will mostly occur at night there should be some clearing during the day allowing for temperatures to recover. Still readings will be highly dependent on how much the sun shines. Sunnier skies will lead to higher temperatures in the upper 80s while more cloud cover will hold readings to the mid 80s. Rainfall amounts could approach 3-5 inches in isolated areas by this weekend and the threat for flooding will have to be watched closely.
