A tid bit on Newgrass music. A progressive bluegrass music form. Where as Bluegrass is traditionally comprised of acoustic instruments; 5 string banjo, mando, guitar, violin, bass & Dobro. Newgrass can be distinguished by electrified instruments, electric guitar, drums, piano etc.. Rock and Roll and Jazz genres are incorporated into Newgrass. Non-traditional chordal progressions are quite common also. (Wiki) Bluegrass and Newgrass are more instrumentally driven, whereas folk, Country, Americana are equally driven by both vocal and instrumental elements. (Folk Alley)
