After watching it on Saturday Finally my review of Jigarthanda :) To Begin with this is one of the movies of this year which has equaled the Hype Created by it before the release. I Got very Much interested after Siddarths Speech in the Audio Launch where he detailed on everything special about the movie. So Let Me Sum up the Pros of the Movie PROS Simhaa: Wow !! Simply Wow .Bobby Simha really does have great untapped potential and Karthick Manages to Bring it out in the most apt way ever.Simhas Best Performances ever till date.I Can Imagine No Great Actor who could have done this role other than Him :) Simha as the Cold Blooded Sethu gives u the Chills(Especially the Scene he turns Back while lying in The Sofa quoting Enna Soundharuu Thapichtaana ??? followed by a villainous laugh) also makes u laugh(esp in the Second Half) Simhaa is the hero of the movie as he had almost the scope for being the character around whom the story revolves around. Gavemic U Ary : Gavemic scores in every scene .His Lens captures even Dull Ambience with Vibrant Colors. This Man is Really a Legend in the making !! The Most Commendable Scenes for me were 1.The Scene where Sethu is about to Enter the Theateres Restroom He crosses a Puddle of Water from the Rain and You are able to see the Rainbow(wow dats osm) 2. Siddarth sitting outside Palanis Petty Shop in the early morning .Madurais Halogen Light Shaded Streets shown brilliantly and at the end of the scenes u can see the early morning blue rays on the left and the Yellow Street Light shade on the right and also every other scene U can see the ambience rich with colors and was a delight to the eye After Nirav Shah and Santosh Sivan its Gavemic who impressed me in Cinematography :) Karthick: As Said by Siddarth Jigarthanda was supposed to Karthicks Initial Script so it had all the elements of a Short Fim directors first movie esp from Karthicks Life like the Movie starts with the Hero Named cleverly Karthick Subramani being rejected from a Nalaya Iyakunar like show and nalan Kumarasamy does a Cameo :) Strict Judges who keep Giving negative comments as if they have made masterpieces themselves(felt more like Dir Vasanth :P) and The Brilliant Portions where the host says Ungaluku Producer kadachtaaru followed by the producers title card and the producer played by Aadukalam Naren says innailarundhu nee Director da followed by the directors title card .A..Kumar like R ..Rajkumar and I dont know which production house he has mocked with Blueberry productions. Simply Brlilliant :) The Whole Second Half was completely Unexpected and the twists were too Good so Hats off Karthick on another massive hit :) Siddarth: for Playing The Lead role in a movie in which he ironically isnt:) Hatsoff to Siddarth for opting this movie :) U Need Guts for it :) Santosh Narayanan: Songs were a hit already so a straight A+ with the BGm too :) Santosh is really a versatile music director able to manage a fusion of two very different genre and is capable of making very unconventional songs and also making sure they are addictive and matching the youth vibe Vijay Sethupathy: This is the First Movie I Guess an actor has both played a Cameo and a Guest role :) as Young Sethu ijay simply is in character and gives you the feel of Young Simhaa :) and in the CLimax i guess definitely no one would have agreed for himself doing a cameo and acting as a self centric bastard:) Vijay Sethupathy doesnt forget the person whos movie made him who he is today :) Cons : This movie has very less flaws .Actually these are flaws according to me not a general opinion 1.Lakshmi Menon : She has absoultely very little screen space .She is very crucial for turning the tables on Siddarth in the second half other than that disappointing that such a good talent had very less role to do in an osm movie 2.The Change in Persona of Simhas Character towards the end felt a little dampening for the osm Persona he maintains in the first half but this is purely my persona view. But it was definitely the climax the movie needed. Overall Jigarthanda a treat served well and touted as the first Massive hit of 2014 :) Kudos Karthick :) Rating : 3.75/5
