Ahks awakening~ There was a wealth of sound, Ahk thought. He knew the sound of the buzz of an insect flying by on an unknown mission, the creaking of the tree trunk in the breeze, the scurrying along its way of the creek waters and the swishing of the fields of natures debris- swaying and blowing by the force of the wind. He knew the pathos of the changing hews of light and the rising of ground-bound odors. He knew the scent in the air as fair or foul, but had no time for dreams or thoughts to consider them. Now, in this new place of staying, with its corrals of small beasts and stores of grain, Ahk realized he was alive in discovering life advancing, as if by a current with no beginning and no end, heralded by the sounds that had always been there-but not considered.
