Alright slackers, this is what youre missing out on: When you hear that the dudes from We Move Mountains started a new band you think to yourself “Is this going to be another metalcore project?”. If you thought that then you are way off, Verona is here to prove that they have more to offer then just silly song titles and breakdowns.Verona is a project that Keller Demaray (vocals/guitar) has been working on for years now. With the help of the other guys of We Move Mountains and White Heat comes a powerful pop punk/pop rock album. With Zach (Zesty) Sams on bass and backing vocals. Mark Carranza and David Walters on guitar. Max Pechtl on the drums and Kirstie DeCaro on keyboards and backing vocals. The first track “Just My Luck” sets the bar high with showing us what Verona has to offer with a strong Pop Punk influenced sound. The creativity in this song is just awesome from the synth riffs to the guitar riffs. The drumming is just great too. The Self Titled track shows more of the Pop Rock side of Verona. When you reach the track “Apollos Greatest Heirloom” things slow down a bit but not in a bad way. To me this track has a love ballad feel to it which is not a bad thing. The next track picks back up with that Pop Rock feel “To The Ocean”. It also features guest Vocals by Sam Howell of the band Afterwords. The album ends with a pretty powerful track “Made Us Who We Are”. We get a nice guitar solo leading out the rest of the song. The bottom line is Verona is going to be another hit. Seeing members playing different instruments is awesome too. The creativity and talent these guys (and gal) have is amazing. Anything they do doesn’t disappoint and everyone doesn’t expect anything less. This is a very strong first full length and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next! That was our first review of our new album as Verona, written by our beloved Danny Petruska! Quit sleeping on this new material, you lazy turds! veronaband.bandcamp
