Although media shows like this may have entertainment value (comedy specifically; this example is from the UK, of a popular prank TV show called Facejacker, with a prequal series known as Fonejacker), not entirely sure if these entirely helps to reinforce confidence and win the hearts of the masses, over the concept of automation (of production/distribution of goods/services), and win the hearts of the masses (some episodes, like this one, utilize this theme of making a mockery of automated systems). It would be interesting to observe how social values will change in their attitudes to what constitutes to good humor, over time, and especially moreso, in a more enlightened society (perhaps the people of the future would view things like these as horrific as people of today would be if watching a bloody massacre taking place, or a baby being abused). But also, and more importantly, whether social media negatively showcasing automation, would prove to be a major impediment in the implementation, expansion, and further development of automated systems and technologies throughout society.
