And another answer to a Statist... Stephen, with respect - TopicsExpress

And another answer to a Statist... Stephen, with respect (because I do see you seek honest understanding), you definitely do not understand limited government, or Libertarianism. First, Libertarianism requires self governance, and acknowledges that Statism is a consequence of the lack of individual governance. The best example of this is the lack of voter participation in the U.S.. Now, Libertarians believe that a decline of State governance will create an emergence of an individual governing body, namely the citizen. The problem with State governance is that it subsidizes the lawless activity that you claim the State regulates. Criminal organizations grow as the impact of lawful citizen on her own jurisdiction declines. In other words, the government is inadequate to prevent lawlessness, but many citizens can prevent lawlessness, because they are individually and together a stronger force than criminals or governments. Now, we see this in Somalia as a central government is unable to take root, but we also do not see the rise of the individual either, because criminal organizations rule through gangs or tribalism. How do we define criminal activity? Simple, a criminal organization is a subversive force that denies an individual control over his molecular presence. To exert control over another individual is to restrict the jurisdiction of that individuals ability to govern their presence. Without self governance anarchy rises. This is why tribalism is the ultimate fate of the collectivist who seeks to subsidize their will to govern with the will of others. The State of least governance from a collective would free an individual to regulate without end their private jurisdiction. Therefore, the most efficient governance of individuals is the collective protection of private jurisdiction, and that alone.
