And its time once again for that most American of holidays, the Fourth of July - Independence Day. Along with all of the ceelbration and patriotism and red-white-and-blue, its also one of the biggest cooking holidays of the year! My roommate will be attending a barbeque tomorrow, so well be preparing a big pot of pulled pork and Boston baked beans to contribute. Im not sure if there really is a difference, but it seems as though a glass bowl does a better job soaking beans than a metal bowl. Ive also found it better to cover a the bowl-of-beans with wrap and let it sit on the counter to soak. When placed in the fridge, the cold temperature keeps the beans from absorbing water and they dont soften as well. So, whats YOUR cooking agenda for this upcoming holiday? :)
