Andre Donawa tried his hands at producing two years ago when he released the “Body Up Riddim” which featured Destra, Blaxx and Erphaan Alves. His duties as a member of the string quartet group Alternative Quartet demanded all his time in 2014, but he’s back this year with the “Dangerous Riddim” featuring Saga Boyz with “Havoc” and Tanya Carter from Belize who’s song carries the name of the riddim. Andre who operates out of Donadoni Productions describes the riddim as edgy with a heavy percussion influence and his interpretation of Soca music and where it could reach. As the founder, composer and arranger of the Quartet, his focus is also with them and they have been busy in the studio. Alternative Quartet will be jumping on the ever popular Kan Kan riddim very soon, something producer Kit Israel was most excited about. Andre told TTRN when he expressed the idea of the Quartet joining the Kan Kan, Kit sent the files to him in less than two minutes. They did the recording at Precision Productions studio with Viola and Cello players Nariba Herbert and Wasia Ward providing the vocals. Alternative Quartet and Precision Productions are also working on new music together, but are remaining tight lipped on that project.
