Anonymous post, can you help? My third child is 14 months. Just over a week ago she would not settle at all in her cot. The minute i put her down she screamed and cried hysterically, panicking. I have tried to let her cry it out but it kills me, I just cant bare it. She gets so worked up instead of settling down. She just gets worse and worse. There has been no change to her routine and shes always slept in her cot. As soon as i pick her up out of the cot she calms down and i end up putting her either on the couch, in my arms and in the bed with me and she is content then she just hugs into me and falls straight to sleep. Ive tried putting her into her cot when she is asleep but she wakes an hour later hysterical again. Im scared of letting her cry too long in case something happens. Is it dangerous too let them cry for too long? I dont know what to do Ive never experienced this with my other two. Thanks in advance. Any advice would be really appreciated.
