AppyTaxi IOM will be the first and only app in the Isle Of Man that allows you to request a taxi at the location you’re standing wherever you are in the Isle Of Man. You will also be able to pre-book a taxicab in advance. The advance booking option uses the most advance technology to allocate a driver automatically and inform you instantly if your booking has been accepted. Once accepted, you will receive a message when your driver is on its way and you’ll be able to track his progress on your phone. Additionally, AppyTaxi IOM will allow you to pay your fare with a pre-paid account named the “Taxicard” and has a large amount of information about the Isle Of Man, events, local businesses and more. HOW WILL IT WORK Press on “Request a taxi at your current location” button once, the App will ask you if you have any special requirements, select if applicable and then the App will ask you to confirm your request. Press ‘Yes’ and wait a few seconds while the server look for an available taxi and as soon as one has accepted your request, he will show on your map with the estimated arrival time. If you must cancel your fare before the taxi has arrived, please press the ‘Cancel’ button. This will be a live system so to avoid mis-use and delays for other users, your account will automatically be disabled if you request a taxi 3 times but subsequently cancel or do not show at your pick up location. To make a advance booking, you will input the start and end locations and the date and time required and press “Book”. Within a few seconds, a message will inform you if your booking can be handled or not. Please note that as this is an automated system, bookings must be made for two or more hours in the future. If you require a taxicab in less then two hours, please use the instant request option.
