Arab students demonstrate at Hebrew University Excerpt: Arab student groups at the Hebrew University demonstrated on Wednesday evening against the Prawer Plan, which is aimed at Judaising the Negev and expelling Arabs from their own villages. The organisers of the demonstration said that their action is part of an escalation of activities ahead of the Day of Anger protest against the Prawer Plan scheduled for 30 November. On that day several Arab groups are planning to carry out massive simultaneous actions in the Negev, Haifa and Ramallah. Despite the extensive presence of Israeli police, more than 100 Arab students gathered on Wednesday at the entrance of the universitys student halls. The Arab students who took part in the demonstration hoped that their gathering would mobilise interest ahead of the day of action at the end of this month. The secretary of the Democratic Students Group at the university, Ali Jassar, explained: Student groups are taking the leading role as they forge ahead with the protests against the expulsions and racist measures of the Prawer Plan.
