Arent you tired of hearing the ignorance that increasing the minimum wage will cause prices to go up; or stifle the economy?! You know, those same prices that went up in 2008 & 2009, without any form of cost of living adjustments, employee raises, or increases in hiring to follow for the next 5 to 6 years while corporate profits and income inequality went orbital?! In addition to ignoring that the previous seven times in our history that the minimum wage was raised, and how the economy was revitalized from it? Let us use Wal-Mart as an example, since they have managed to subsidy-sashay their way into nearly every town in America; and in some cases multiple times. Wal-Mart, the largest creator of underemployment jobs and profound supporter of the Disposable Employee Model, would have its prices go up by mere pennies, PENNIES, if it were to pay all of its workers a livable wage. Further, this action would reduce our governments expenditures for food assistance to their thousands of underpaid, and underemployed, employees and their families! Is that NOT something we ALL value? -Helping families get on their feet so that they can support themselves! Its just common sense to know that these employees and their families will turn around and spend nearly 80%, or more, of those increased earnings in their community - AND we all benefit from that. Sounds like a No Brainer, right? Whats Wal-Mart think ... their employees should pay for their own (cough) uniforms.
