As I reflect on this past year I have so much to be thankful for. In basketball I have been fortunate to have called a Jr High an Sr High District Finals. A Regional Finals and a State Finals. In baseball I was a Crew Cheif for a Regional tournament. Called a State Finals at Baum Stadium, the High School All-star game at UCA, and was the Crew Cheif and called the Finals of the AA American Legion State Tournament. I was also selected to do a first round playoff game in football. I watched my son Ryan Akin win Grand Champion Market Goat and Sr Showmanship at the Yell County Fair. I watched him escort the Western Yell County Homecoming Queen and was there the night the final horn sounded on his high school career. All of this took place with my beautiful bride supporting us every step of the way. Allison Akin has done more for the two of us than I can ever repay. She is the reason that I enjoy officiating. She has read rules books with me, washed clothes, and even sat up in the stands while fans have called me just about everything you can think of. So for all you coaches and fans that say those things that I cant repost on facebook when you see me at your games...You can blame her. I love to share my career with her. So please pray for her every chance you get. She has a lot to deal with when it comes to me and Ryan. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
