As I sit and reflect, I realize 16 years ago I didn’t have an idea of being a wife, however me being me, I thought I was ready. I am amazed at how marriage can reveal deep rooted pride and arrogance that you can carry for years, making it hard for you to forgive or even ask for forgiveness when you are “far” from perfect. Amazed at how someone can wait for you to change…. and you see change in the other person as God works on you. Amazed how a person can fight for you against all odds and still be in love with you. My saying has been over the last few months “now that is some God kinda stuff! See, I am not a fan of people who say marriage isn’t hard or their marriage has always been perfect when “nothing” is perfect, however I am a fan of people that are honest and transparent, and ultimately overcomers. These last 16 years has taught me that the world does not revolve around me, no one is perfect especially not me, and love and forgiveness are decisions we CHOOSE to demonstrate on a daily basis.
