As the storm approaches: If you have pets please make sure they are safe too. If you live in a flood prone area and need to evacuate please evacuate with your pets, do not leave them tied up or caged with no escape from rising flood waters. Make sure your pets have proper identification in the event they get separated from you during the storm. Write your name and contact information on their collar. Keep them inside the house as the worst of the storm hits. Often times strong winds and falling debris frighten them so being inside is the best thing for your pets.
