As we get ready to vote tomorrow (11/04/14), we must also put ourselves in the right frame of mind to vote for the Mayor and Aldermen in February. The burden is on us as citizens to do our homework on each candidate and really understand their platforms and why we would or would not vote for them. There are many candidates cropping up who dont have a track record of community service, leadership or accomplishment in the community in issues that really matter (ie, education, community development, public safety, economic development, etc.). Others are floating on their parents or relatives records. Others have significant histories but track records must be revisited. On top of this, we get information from opposing campaigns with more frequency. We must separate fact from fiction. Mayor Valerie F. Leonard
