Atty. Darlene Marie B. Berberabes testimony yesterday was consistent with how I have known her since we were neighbors 20 years ago in UP Diliman - articulate, straightforward, always respectful, acknowledging legitimate criticism, indeed overall objectively very impressive. Ironically, as this is an anti-Binay investigation, she gave the biggest boost so farfor the Vice-Presdent. Personally, it counts a lot to me that Lenlen can say publicly under oath VP Binay has never asked for favors since she became head of Pagibig. Given my long experience in governance and politics, and the context of these field in the Philippines, I rely first and foremost in my personal judgement and confidence on people. I have a very big network of thousands of mentors, peers, students, collaborators, etc. and I operate on a high level of trust with a few hundred of them, Some of them like Lenlen I have known for more than twenty years. Its also for that reason that I have string confidence in officials like Secretaries Abad and Soliman, whom I have known even longer for more than 35 years. Their testimony count much stronger for me than allegations by media and politicians.
