August 7 Handloom Weavers Day: Observed by organising Workshop with Weavers Today, in DELHI from 2-30PM at NDMC COMMUNITY CENTRE, Krishna Menon Lane Market. ANANDA BHASKAR RAPOLU presided over the Valedictory from 6-30 PM. Shri SANTOSH KUMAR GANGWAR ji, UMOS -TEXTILES took part as Chief Guest & assured to consider to announce this day August 7 as National Weavers Day. Shri B. Vinod Kumar, Shri A.P.Jithendra Reddy & Prof M. V. Rajeev Gowda, MPs, Shri S. Venkatnarayana, Veteran Journalist took part. National Centre for Textile Design, NHDC, Textile Committee senior officials took part in WorkShop and appraised the improvements in tools and schemes. Additional Development Commissioner, Handlooms & NCTD Director summed up the Workshop gist. RAPOLU urged Union Government to ensure easy availability of Raw Material, Smooth loaning with less interest rate and safe saleability of Handloom produce to uplift the living standards of weavers. Get Habituated to use Cotton preferably hand Woven! This Cotton Cloth will save us for future. Hand Woven Usage will save coming Generations of Weavers.
