Awesome random comment of the day: Curiously, the American Air Force did studies back in the 70s (60s?) with voice alerts in fighter planes. The results were very interesting. They found that the fighter pilots responded best to female, childlike voice alerts during combat simulations. Weird in the extreme. They moved on with the concept and gave the voice alerts a primitive personality (just prerecorded voices) like daughter and niece. This also produced positive results. I wish I could remember where I read that study, but it always stuck with me. Maybe from the 60s? Thats about when the fighter pilots started having trouble with sensory overload from all the beeps and whistles in the F4 Phantoms. Imagine during combat hearing from behind your left ear Weve been targeted by a missile, Papa! in a calm but insistent little girls voice. Or Mama, the hydraulic pressure is getting low! Its almost creepy.
