BE HONEST: - Please share your thoughts, Are YOU more likely to go out to a venue for the drink specials or giveaways, regardless who is performing (if any live music) OR - do you seek the live entertainment options for the day and GO for the MUSIC! (thank-you thank-you thank-you) OR - have to have your arm twisted to leave the house... Understandably it is in MY (along with the rest of the music industrys) best interest to get the honest truth and do whatever we can to make it work. Over the weekend, at one point there was a 10min window where I performed to ONE person (not including staff) ...this happens from time to time and I dont mind because I still had someone enjoying it :) but at that point I shook his hand and thanked him - to which he said simply I just love good live music - thanks! I bought him a beer and couldnt give him a free CD fast enough!! That simple one line he said to me hit me like a punch in the face (a good one) and gave me plenty of fuel to keep playing as if there were thousands of people there:) Basically all I am saying is, true live music listeners dont realize how important you are to us musicians.
