How can one possibly suffer in abundance? No doubt, whatsoever Like they say, common sense is not common. No offence Bros Oshodin! How can a university with vast number of professor and doctors not to be able to think straight. I remember vividly after exam we were told to vacate the halls of residence and yes we did. Just 3 week into the supposed holiday, we are been told that hostels application have started Wait! Let’s think this through, the first school of thought is Its stagger my imagination when I realise hostel application has started when holiday is yet to be over? It’s absurd and unthinkable. Reason this with me: is it all UNIBEN students that stay in Benin or its close vicinity. How do they expect Simon my course mate who hustles very hard during the holiday at Portharcourt just to pay his school fee and get hostel accommodation when school resume. What if Simon after resumption could not get accommodation because UNIBEN failed to provide a level playing field for all students to get accommodation? And when Simon will opt to buy space from students who do hostel racketeering, it is this same school authority that will prohibit such act. Existing evidence points that the people who truly need the accommodation are not the ones who are hustling to get space now. It is the ones who intend to sell the accommodation at exorbitant price that are trying to get the application. I NO BLAME DEM, MAN GAT HUSTLE!! To worsen an earlier bad condition, how does the school authority wants students who truly need the school accommodation who stay in far away vicinity from Benin. How? How do they want people like Simon to get accommodation? I hear you say so buy!... No doubt, whatsoever, their plan is to cause panic and undue stress (maybe to buttress the fact UNIBEN is called UNISTRESS) so that people who live in far away Kaduna state to start ply the road just to get accommodation when school have not resumed. Boy oh Boy! (With a sarcastic voice), you need to see the crowd in the bank, you need not be told that’s how the chronology of event that lead to the death of 10 Nigerians during the Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment Exam started. Maybe this time, Oshodin will promise free accommodation to the friends of the deceased....msteeew, how stupid!!!.... I feel, we are inclined to believe that we can start calling our friends to help us buy, when the process is rigorous and stressful; even an angel will decline such plea. My Unsolicited solution is simple, the world is a global village because of one thing; yeh u’re right!! “Internet”. I strongly suggest if they want to do something like this impromptu; at least it should be done online, where student in the comfort of their toilet can apply at home. How can a university that pride herself to be in the 21st century not stick to its online payment transaction portal, where one can pay your school fee and apply for hostel accommodation with just a dial in their phone; I believe far too important this will ease those long unending queues in bank and stress of their staff to attend to desperate students. ENOUGH SAID!!! AM OUT!! *drops pen angrily to join the search for the missing Malaysian plane*
