BREAKING NEWS!!!!! THE 8 LONG YEARS WASTEFULLNESS OF SENATOR EMMANUEL PAULKER TENURE IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY. Rt. Hon Kombowei Benson is the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. Before his rise to the number one position in the assembly, he served as the house committee chairman on information. In this interview with TNN Publisher, OFONIME UMANAH and LAWAL EBIOWEI, he talked about the lukewarm representation and lack of projects Attracrtion/implementation of Senator Emmanuel Paulker. Hear him talk about the stewardship of Senator Emmanuel Paulker. EXCERPTS. It seems like a revolution because the people have not received the dividends of democracy from the man who is representing us at the senate. Back at home, what we mean by dividends of democracy is that, I as the man who is at the helms of affairs at the state assembly can tell you that we have nothing to show from the federal level. Why, because our representative is a sleeping representative in the senate. He is sleeping when people are insulting Mr. President on the floor of the house. He is sleeping. Why should we continue to send somebody who has no voice, somebody who cannot speak our mind? Bayelsa by virtue of where we find ourselves is an agitating state; agitating in the sense that we have been left behind for too long and to come out of that we have to go a step further but our representative is not doing what we expect him to do. He is not bringing back what we need, we don’t have roads and the whole of Southern Ijaw is cut off. There is no community in Southern Ijaw except Amassoma and Ayama, that Dickson has just taken a road to, the whole of about 60 villages are cut off. Just imagine that. And there are several other communities in Yenagoa that are riverine. We don’t have a federal presence in our area, so what are we talking about? If we don’t have a federal presence and we have a son that has gone there for eight years and he wants to go again, what is he promising us? When he came to campaign in 2011, he did not go to Southern Ijaw. We took his placards, we took his posters and we took his vests to Southern Ijaw to campaign for him but this time we are not going to do that. We have decided not to do it again. Then, we begged people to wear his vests, we begged people to carry his posters, we begged people to carry his placards but this time we are not going to do that again. I have engaged him in person and I have told him, that because you have failed us, I as representative of a constituency cannot afford to carry your news and message back home. That is not possible. Is it education that he has encouraged, is it health care he has contributed to, is it road he has attracted? Let me tell you this, there is only one road that is connecting Olodiama, Korokorosei and Azuzuama, that road has since been under construction from 1999 till date. They have only completed one kilometer on a road that is about 12 kilometers in length. I called him and I said to him, my senator you have to do something about this road, it is in the NDDC and you have a lot to do with NDDC. Since we as a state assembly cannot invite a federal agency to question, you should do something about it. He made promises and nothing was done and nothing has been done. So now tell me, what is he repositioning himself to do? Why should he even have to re-contest? He is not doing anything to benefit the people of this area. He is telling people that he took constituency projects to the Federal Medical Center in Yenagoa, that is fine but what we were told during his second term campaign was that the whole members of the national assembly from our Senatorial district jointly took their constituency project to the FMC. Why is he owning the project to himself? Even at that, is that the only problem we have? Fine, a senator and two members of the House of Representatives took their constituency projects to the FMC; that has been done in the past but today what else does he have to show? If we continue to have a bad representative in the senate, Mr. President would continue to be badly represented here. People will continue to think that the president is not bringing home projects, but they would not know that the representatives who are close to him have not been working closely enough with him to bring projects to us. It is better he doesn’t come back after eight wasted years than to give another four years to waste. It is not possible, it is not practicable. We have other sons and daughters that are vibrant, qualified, thinking right and have the people in mind that can go there to do the job we need.. À very concise and reveling piece. Lets vote out the sleeping giant and bring on board a vibrant representation in the person of Comrade Preye Aganaba for Senate Bayelsa Central Senatorial District. .Vote Preye Aganaba.
